Water passes through the mesh surface of the drum. Suspended particles are retained on the mesh, and the purified flow is directed to the next stages.
Drum filter for RAS
The first stage of mechanical cleaning: continuously separates feed residues, waste products and other suspended matter before water enters the biofilter.
- Filtration
- 40–100 µm
- Flushing
- Automatic
- Flow
- Non-stop
Design and performance are selected according to the water consumption and feed load of the project.
How does a drum filter work?
As the grid becomes dirty, the water level changes. The sensor automatically starts the drum rotation and the washing cycle.
The nozzles wash away contaminants into a separate tray. The concentrated runoff is diverted without returning to the growing system.
What's included
- • Housing and rotating drum with replaceable filter mesh.
- • Geared motor and rotation transmission system.
- • Flushing ramp with nozzles and high pressure pump.
- • Level sensors, safety interlocks and control cabinet.
- • Contaminant collection tray and sludge drain pipe.
What do we take into account when calculating?
- • Maximum and operating flow rate of circulating water.
- • Type of object being grown, biomass and daily feed supply.
- • Required cell size and permissible head loss.
- • Fresh or salt water and material requirements.
- • Available space, elevations and drainage pattern for flush water.
